About McHugh Whitmore LLP
McHugh Whitmore LLP law firm was established in 1975 by Michael James McHugh, along with Bruce Mowat. Shortly after that, Michael was joined by Robert Whitmore. Michael and Robert went on to become respected members of the Hamilton legal community, Michael as a Corporate-Commercial solicitor and Robert as a litigator. Amongst their other accomplishments, Robert would go on to become President of the Hamilton Law Association and, more recently in 2018, Michael received the Hamilton Law Association’s Distinguished Solicitor Award.
In addition to their respective personal achievements, they, along with other partners and associates over the decades to come, built one of the most respected firms in the area. After decades of practice serving the local community, Michael James McHugh retired in 2017 and Robert Whitmore retired in 2018. However, their legacy continues through the firm they built and the lawyers they mentored. The lawyers at McHugh Whitmore LLP are excited to continue the tradition of providing effective legal services to their clients and giving back to the community.
